Select a FEATURE SUMMARY reading from the chapters this week. The purpose of the FEATURE
SUMMARIES are to allow students to think critically, analyze, and evaluate writing and come to a
reasoned conclusion as well as enjoy the ideas. Many of the summaries may be opinions or
observations and do not necessarily reflect authenticated facts. Use as many spaces as necessary to
convey your thoughts.
These readings called FEATURE SUMMARIES are found in every chapter of the textbook and have these

3. Briefly State the Main Idea of this FEATURE SUMMARY
Data must be secured because unsecured data can be found and can impact the identify of people whos
data is taken.
4. List any facts in this reading that might impact global concepts or what did you find most
interesting?
This is information I’d been exposed to in the past. Personal information is important in today’s age.
Allowing information to be taken is the responsibility of anyone with access to it. It has always been
very important but for ease of access it has become a larger issue.
5. List any examples of bias or faulty reasoning that you found in the FEATURE SUMMARY. If
you found none, then please explain where you agreed/disagreed with the author. Use the
Critical Thinking Skills listed in the course to come to reasoned conclusions about what you
have learned.
I did not find any examples of bias in this weeks reading that I choose. I think the example shows not
only is their fear of someone accessing the data a business has of you but also the business having data
placed. The examples given were data taken and placed on the Internet along with data manipulated in
a business. Those are both huge concerns, businesses rely on accurate information. If the information is
manipulated it can have great impact on its performance.
6. List any new terms/concepts that were discussed in the FEATURE SUMMARY and write a short
definition in your own words.
I had not given equal thought to having data stolen as I had to having it manipulated. This readying
gave an example of both. It would be very troubling for a company to have that data manipulated as
described.
