The Volkswagen scandal is all over the news. Please discuss what its impact has been on Volkswagen’s corporate structure both in the U.S. and abroad. Please be sure to describe the corporate structure. Please discuss what administrative agencies are involved in the investigation and what role they take. What are the proposed administrative penalties and what laws or regulations are they based on. Discuss what recourse individuals who bought the car may have against VW. Please be sure to discuss both the remedies that may be available through administrative agencies and based upon contract law. I want to see if you can distinguish between the two. Other than VW itself, the Dealerships may stand to lose the most. Discuss whether or not the dealerships have a separate cause of action under contract law or is their role one of Principal to Agent?
